Other Home Care Services

When you or a loved one faces aging or medical challenges that leave you unable to care for yourself at home, hiring an in-home health care nurse at Expicare Nursing can be just the solution you are looking for. Most seniors agree that the preferred option would be receiving medical care and assistance within the familiar surroundings and comfort of their own homes. At Expicare, our qualified nursing professionals can help you take the first important step in the right direction.

When it is time to hire a caregiver for support, it can help to be familiar with the differences between an Expicare Home Health Aide, Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), and in-home care nurses, along with the various services that can be provided. Our caregivers provide separate services, with some overlap. The medical assistance needs of the patient are typically the foremost consideration in determining which type of home care provider to hire.

Home Health Aides

Expicare Home Health Aides are individuals who can assist aging adults and other patients by observing their vital signs and overall condition. However, they do not provide medical procedures. The caregiver can assist the senior with toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, and other basic tasks that can help the individual manage at home but not other duties related to medical care.

Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs)

Expicare Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs) are a step up from the home health aide level. They may provide some medical tasks, change dressings, clean catheters, administer some minor treatments, and provide ambulatory assistance. An LNA can also assist in personalized patient care, such as bathroom assistance, dressing, bathing, and feeding.

In-Home Care Nurses

Nursing professionals from Expicare Nursing are either registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs). They have completed a nursing program and holds a nursing degree or diploma. They are licensed to practice nursing care in the state in which they work. They provide a wide range of medical procedures, administer medications, perform various nursing procedures that involve medical equipment, and monitor their patients’ health status.

These healthcare professionals work in tandem with physicians, keeping doctors informed of any changes in the patient’s health status and then performing many of the necessary medical therapies and procedures related to the needs of their health condition.

Hospice Care

Our Expicare RN’s, LPN’s and CNA’s are all trained to provide kind and compassionate care while preserving the dignity of the patient. Expicare Nursing has been working with the local hospices for many years. For a complete list of hospice facilities we work with please visit our resources section.

Hourly Care

For those patients that require more assistance and continuous care, we offer hourly support services. Caregivers will be there to help from as little as 2 hours to 24 hours in the home, hospital, nursing home and assisted living facilities. Caregivers are also available to travel with you or your loved one as needed (whether for vacations, family visits, or spending time in another place of residence).

Bath Visit

Our Expicare CNA’s and HHA’s are available for a 1 hour visit. This is used as a bath visit for bathing or showering the patient, as a medication reminder, to ensure the correct dosage is taken at the correct time, or for turn-down service to get them ready for bed.

Live-In

A live-in caregiver from Expicare Nursing stays in the home with you or your loved one for 24 hours a day. We offer complete coverage so the patient is never left alone. They offer companionship and assistance with activities of daily living. A Live-in caregiver can be used for patients who require little to no assistance throughout the night or who do not require hourly care.

Massage Therapy

Massage is often performed by a Licensed and Insured Massage Therapist. Massage therapy is a natural solution to many ailments associated with the ageing process, and has proven to be an effective complementary therapy to assist and improve the efficacy of conventional treatments.

Medication Management

Our RN’s and LPN’s at Expicare are there to help you manage your medications, working directly with your doctor and pharmacy when needed. The nurse can come and set up your medications for the week ensuring you get the correct medications on the correct days.
